We can’t control the weather, but we can help you plan your walk and get clean, warm and dry after exploring the countryside. We provide for walkers:
- A boot scraper and hosepipe to clean those muddy boots and dog
- A bootroom/doghouse for leaving your wet coats and boots and drying off your dog (Ancestral Barn)
- Washing machines and tumble dryers for cleaning your clothes
- Maps available on request or try the Komoot App here which gives you lots of ready-built routes
- Information on local outdoor activity shops
- Suggestions for local walks such as these...
To help you get the most out of your day out cycling, we provide:

Cycle hire centres operate at Mapleton (near Ashbourne), Parsley Hay (near Hartington), Middleton Top (near Wirksworth) and Hassop Station (near Bakewell). Tissington, Parsley Hay and Hassop have tea rooms with excellent food.
